NDI’s REGIONAL POLITICAL PARTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE
NDI began a long-term regional initiative for political party development in 2005 to assist parties in the region on reform challenges. The regional program was intended to augment in-country NDI assistance, focused on individual party development, by linking parties throughout the region and Europe that share the same ideological perspectives. The program was envisioned as a multi-phase initiative that would provide parties with a regional comparative experience, as well as intensive single-party development projects, all connecting the parties to their European counterparts and exposing them to new policy development practices and party structures.
