Evidence Based Policy-Making – A Collection of Policy Proposals 2011/12

"This collection of policy papers is the result of a comprehensive process lasting for more than a year as the part of project “Strengthening the Policy-Making Capacity of Future Decision- Makers in the Areas of Security and Defense”, implemented by TransConflict Serbia and National Democratic Institute. Participants of the program have successfully completed an in-depth training course on core policy-making skills, received thematic lectures on a range of key security and defense issues, and attended breakfast meetings with key dignitaries. The main objective of such a multi-disciplinary approach was to equip the participants with specific skills and knowledge to ensure that they can contribute positively to the internal functioning and decision-making structures of their respective parties, thereby contributing to improvements in the overall standard of policy debate on security and defense issues in Serbia."

Priručnik za izradu lokalnih politika

Ovaj Priručnik namijenjen je svim onim koji su zainteresovani da politiku svoje partije zasnuju na procesu otvorenom za ideje članova partije, nevladinih organizacija, građana i svih zainteresovanih institucija i pojedinaca. On je pomoćno sredstvo u procesu izrade politike i namjera je da olakša cjelokupan proces opisujući njegove pojedine dijelove. Preporuke sadržane u ovom Priručniku smjernice su u procesu izrade politike, a ne do detalja propisana tehnika koja se mora primjenjivati.

This manual aims to help political parties to base its policy development on an open and inclusive process, involving party members, local nonprofit organizations, citizens and institutions by providing guidelines.

Invitation to Join the Government of Britain: The Conservative Manifesto 2010

“The 130-page Conservative manifesto, the first in recent history to be produced in the form of a hardback book, has a sober, dark blue cover intended to illustrate the gravity of the financial crisis facing Britain. But Tory sources said that, between the covers, the manifesto will paint a dramatic picture of the central theme of Cameron's leadership – his ambition to preside over a "Big Society" in which power is handed down to users of public services and voters at a local and national level. The manifesto then highlights a "direction invitation" in a series of areas that it claims will give voters a chance to join a Tory government in reshaping Britain. The "invitations" include: 1) Referendums on any local issue if 5% of the population; sign up, and a veto for voters over any proposed high council tax increases. 2) Plans for public sector co-ops: "Giving public sector workers ownership of the services they deliver is a powerful way to drive efficiency, so we will support co-operatives and mutualisation as a way of transferring public assets and revenue streams to public sector." and 3) pledge to create a "property-owning democracy". The manifesto will update this by highlighting a permanent rise in the stamp duty threshold to £250,000 for first-time buyers.”

The Labour Party Manifesto 2010

Manifesto

‘The Labour party manifesto, developed for 2010 UK General Elections, highlights the importance of the creative industries in Britain’s recovering economy. The Labour Party Manifesto explicitly references the creative and cultural industries in ‘Creative Britain: active and flourishing communities’. It highlights a number of key policies have been aimed at boosting, in particular, the film and digital sectors through tax incentives.

The manifesto also talks about social mobility in the cultural sector and proposes taking forward Creative Bursaries, a trial scheme to provide financial support for young people with talent, to ensure they can work for six months in arts and cultural institutions and build up their professional experience. It also states Labour would work with the sector to establish the best way to reduce the dependency on unpaid interns.’
